So I promised you all an update, so here goes:
Instead of going **Home<3** this summer to the beaches, my pup, my car, and my family, I’m staying in the city for an internship with a Private Banking and Wealth Management firm (if you can guess from the logo above). I’m also working a little side job (which I am currently sitting at, right now, as I type this) which is terrible and I hate it, but the pay is good for such remedial tasks that I really can’t complain TOO much. And on top of a 40-45 hour work week, I am taking classes for the LSAT. The classes are not bad, but given in a 4 hour block, they can get a little rough.
For the weekend of the Fourth coming up, my close friends from home will be driving up and spending the holiday here! We have no plan yet, besides some good food, fireworks, and hopefully some good weather. Speaking of, I cannot even begin to explain how frustrated I am with Mother Nature and the Universe. Honestly, throw us a frickin’ bone, give us at least the weekends! 21 days straight of rain in June is rediculous, not to mention depressing.
Anyway, other than that, I have just been hanging out. Everyone always said the city was so awesome in the summer and they are dead wrong. Unless you have hundreds to spend going out to dinner and enjoy the club scene (I do not) – because that is ALL there really is – then the city is not the place for you, especially during the summer months when you should be picnicking, tanning, and strolling the beaches and boardwalks. Can’t do that here!
Needless to say so far my summer has not been very eventful. Besides one really great week with S and a select dinner dates here and there, life has been flat. Although, I guess I should’ve suspected this, seeing as I like home and the people there way more than here. Just goes to show you, be careful what you ask for. I will say this: my internship was worth it. I guess in order to get something amazing, you have to give up a lot of other grea things…
Anyway, I will be “back in action” and posting soon about my regular everyday nuisances, interesting news, and the usual, so stay tuned!!
PS. How about the Bernie Madoff… a very very very very small part of me feels a little sorry for he and his family. But not that sorry.
