Rub a dub dub Burger King in a Tub

August 13, 2008

At Wendy’s you get a finger in your chili. At McDonald’s and KFC you get mystery meat. Burger King was deemed one of the safer places to order fast food, besides the freaky King man. Until now, that is. A BK Lounge employee has been videotaped bathing in a sink at the Burger King on Orange Street in Xenia, Ohio. The video, which was posted on Myspace under the title “Mr. Unstable” is of the employee bathing nude in a large stainless steel sink as several other employees and a store manager looked on. Not only is Mr. Unstable’s bath stunt inappropriate and disgusting, but it’s really strange that other employees and managers were watching.

Seriously, who wants to watch their coworker bath naked?? Even if he looks like a model, it’s still weird. Burger King has tried to take the necessary steps to right this wrong. The Burger King in Xenia fired all of it’s employees involved, threw out all of it’s utensils, and sanitized the sink. Burger King issued this statement in order to calm the storm:

“Burger King Corp. was just notified of this incident and is cooperating fully with the health department. We have sanitized the sink and have disposed of all other kitchen tools and utensils that were used during the incident.

We have also taken appropriate corrective action on the employees that were involved in this video. Additionally, the remaining staff at this restaurant is being retrained in health and sanitation procedures.”

It’s really a shame for Burger King Corp. Just because one dumbass employee decided to get nakey and cleanse himself in a food preparation area, a lot of Burger Kings will suffer. An event like this taints the restaurants reputation for awhile, if not forever.

In the end, my question comes down to this: Is there anywhere safe to get fast food anymore? Personally, I prefer not to eat fast food. If I must, I typically stick to french fries and milk shakes. I don’t think Chick-fil-a has had any bad press, or places like Sonic and Jack in the Box. Maybe the best bet is just completely boycotting fast food. It’s healthier and obviously your safest bet.

NOTE: There is an extremely nice McDonald’s that actually looks like it could be an upscale restaurant inside. Teenagers that live in the area take dates there to impress them and because it is nice & cheap. Weird. Take a look:

P.S. Not gonna lie, if a boy ever took me on a first date to a McDonald’s, or probably ever, I would not be too happy about that.
