Robert, the Ice Cream Man
June 30, 2008At the beach yesterday, there were about 5 different ice cream men walking around with that cooler they all have. Well it was pretty hot, and one ice cream man, whom I shall call Robert, decided to have himself a break. He just stopped walking, took a Chipwich out, sat down on his cooler, and ate. Here he is, ladies and gents:
Gotta love him! Other entertainment on the beach yesterday included a young couple, probably age 16, who were trying to be cute but actually looked very uncomfortable and forced. The boy kept grabbing her from behind and picking her up in a very awkward position – almost like he was attacking her viciously. And she didn’t really know what to do either, so she just nervously laughed. I’m not sure, but I think they felt like they had to do this whole attack thing in order to have fun. Then the kid threw her in the water, and he and 3 other boys continued to throw shells and chunks of mud at her, like they were stoning her or something! Really strange, but funny to an on-looker.
Also, there was another awkward couple, mid-twenties, probably shoobies, who attempted to surf together. First off, the water was churning up a storm – the waves were crashing 5 every second and were HUGE (huge to me is, like, 5-6 feet high). All you saw was white caps everywhere. Well this couple decided they were going to try and take on the waves. Well, the waves won. They got stuck about 15ft out and the lifeguards went to save them. It was a full-on, 100% Bay Watch save, too, very entertaining to the entire beach. The lifeguard chief took out the jet-ski with the body board on the back of it, and 2 other guards swam out with those red buoy floaty things. The couple couldn’t grab onto anything though, and had to just try and ride the waves in. To top it off, as they got to shore, the girl had the leash attached to her ankle and when a wave would come and wash the board ashore she would wipe out every time! HAHA! Good stuff.
Finally, there was little boy no older than 8 years old doing gymnastics down the beach. He was like a little Olympics master, my bet is he was training for something because his coach was there too telling him what to do. But this little guy could bend and flip like no other! I have a video and as soon as I learn how to upload it I will, so stand by for that! Who knows, maybe he’ll show up in Beijing!
NOTE: For any shoobies or bennies (or even locals) who go to the beaches and boardwalks of South Jersey… DO NOT FEED THE SEAGULLS!!! If you feel a retarded compulsion to feed the birds, then stay home and do it in your own yard. No one here likes to get attacked and pooped on.
